Commencing: The first Wednesday in August each year.

Training Centres

There are currently 6 centres approved for training and trainees have the opportunity to preference which of the centres they would consider training within as part of the application process.

Pathways

The Resuscitative Pathway

The resuscitative pathway, which will be most suitable to general and vascular surgeons, will enhance those technical skills required to save life in the early stages of the major trauma patients hospital management.

The Major Trauma Leader Pathway

The major trauma leader pathway will be designed to develop the major trauma leader role, providing leadership in the care of the major trauma patient from the trauma room through to transfer to rehabilitation. This would be suitable for any surgeon or physician wanting to develop their major trauma leadership skills.

Recruitment Activity Date Information
Applications open: 18th October 2024 Advertisements are posted in annually usually around October and will appear on Oriel and College websites. All relevant information will also be circulated to relevant committees for dissemination to trainees and will also appear on the JCST twitter feed
Applications close 30th November 2024 It is important to check the closing date as late applications are not accepted. All applications are completed online through the national system, Oriel.
Latest date candidates will be invited to interview by: 20th December 2024 Candidates will be asked to book an interview slot via Oriel on a first come first served basis.
Interview date: 22nd January 2025 The interviews will be virtual and candidates will not need to attend in person.
