Vacancies: upto 2
Starting Date: 2 April 2012
Recruitment Timetable
Apply from: 7 February 2012
Closing date: 2 March 2012
Invitations to interview expected: 5 March 2012
Interview dates: 23 March 2012.
Applications are invited from Consultants in the specialty with experience both as a Consultant and as a Trainer of Specialist Registrar/Specialty Trainees for at least two years, and a Clinical/College Tutor for at least one year for the positions of Training Programme Director and Deputy Training Programme Director in Neurosurgery.
The Training Programme Director will be specifically responsible for all specialty trainees in Neurosurgery across both Severn and Peninsula Deaneries and it is anticipated the Deputy will sit in the opposite Deanery to that of the Programme Director. E.g. If the successful applicant is from the South then a Deputy TPD will be sought in the North or vice versa, and they will also need to make an application and be formally interviewed.
To apply, please submit your CV (preferably by e-mail), together with a short paper indicating the relevant skills and experience you consider you would bring to the role and also indicate which role you are applying for, TPD or Deputy TPD
A formal Interview will be held on Friday 23rd March 2012 at 09.30 a.m. in Severn Deanery.
A person specification and an outline of the roles and responsibilities of a Training Programme Director are available by clicking on the links above. If you would like to discuss this role in more detail please contact Professor Richard Canter, Head of School of Surgery or Dr Geoff Wright, Associate Postgraduate Dean.
The post attracts funding in recognition of the time that will be required for the duties of a TPD. This is calculated on a pro rata basis according to the number of training posts and will be discussed at interview.
Applications should be sent to Susan House, Recruitment & Selection Manager for Surgery, by email to susan.house@southwest.nhs.uk by the closing date of Friday 2nd March 2012.
