  • The defined date for eligibility of applications, e.g. Visa status or College exam results, is the closing date for applications.
  • Eligibility for full registration with the GMC must be present at time of appointment.
  • Only one application,the first application submitted, will be accepted from any candidate for any one post.
  • We recommend completed applications are saved, checked to ensure you have included all the relevant information and there are no discrepancies and only then submitted.
  • An application cannot be altered once submitted.
  • We recommend applications are submitted 30 minutes prior to the deadline.
  • We are only able to receive applications electronically, and the form must be submitted via the Severn Deanery's Application Portal (I:CAMS).
  • If you are applying for a Core Training position, and you do not currently hold or will not hold by February 2011 a 5.2 Foundation Achievement of Competence Document (FACD) additional supporting information will be required by the closing date of the applications.
  • If you are applying for a Higher Specialty Training position and you do not currently hold or will not hold by February 2011 a RITA/ARCP for Core Competency additional supporting information will be required by the closing date of the applications.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.
  • Progress of applications can be tracked through the Severn Deanery's Application Portal (I:CAMS).
  • All communication will be via email and text message

Reference Process

  • Two references will be required.
  • One of the references submitted must be provided from a consultant (or equivalent) involved in your day-to-day working in your current or most recent post.
  • Hard copies of your references, each signed by the referee, must be brought by you to the interview you attend.
  • An interview may not go ahead unless references are brought to the interview.
  • The standard structured reference form which you will need to ask your referees to complete can be found on this website.

Interview Process

  • Please see the interview schedule published on our website and further updates on the Severn Deanery's Application Portal (I:CAMS).
  • Short-listed candidates will be informed by email and text message.
  • This will be carried out with as much warning as possible, but please be aware that we may need to contact some candidates at short notice before interview in the event of cancellations.
  • Details of additional documentation to be brought to interview is available on our website.
  • The number of vacancies are indicative and may vary from those originally specified.
