Course aim:
To improve confidence and skills in:
• constructively supporting trainees and helping them to help themselves
• addressing concerns and performance issues
Course objectives:
At the end of this workshop you should be able to:

Recognise a trainee who needs specific support

Understand & describe the factors that cause problems and support resilience

Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Educational Supervisor and summarise what is expected in supporting trainees and tackling concerns

Discuss & clarify any concerns with trainees & give effective feedback

Understand the critical importance of high quality documentation of this process and describe how to document feedback discussions fairly

Devise a clear action plan with focused objectives

Gauge your levels of confidence and skill in supporting trainees
