Aim:

an overview of best practice and underpinning research in education and training.

 

Objectives: by the end of the day participants will be able to:

1. Describe the teaching aspects of the roles of Clinical and Educational Supervisors.

2. Summarise the principles of adult learning design and instructional design and the teaching skills required of each.

3. Describe the ways in which adults learn best including 2 different learning style theories.

4. Describe learning outputs and outcomes after analysing a situation for potential learning opportunities.

5. Use adult learning design to teach and facilitate the learning of others in their team(s).

6. Successfully use a model for reflective practice, and discuss the rationale for using this in medical education.
