This workshop will give understanding of the ARCP process in relation to the management of rarely encountered, difficult and unsatisfactory outcome ARCPs, and how to manage the process properly to minimise the risk of appeals.

 

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the issues that can make the ARCP process difficult
  2. Understand how to manage the ARCPs that can cause problems
  3. Better avoid appeals
  4. Recognise trainees who require additional support

 

The Programme will cover:

  • The ARCP process, preparation and evidence
  • what the Gold Guide says
  • Group discussion of scenarios that have caused uncertainty
  • What to record - before, during and after
  • Underlying issues
